2009 Achievements
Tyra Steele made 4 levels of progress from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3, (Chloe Nelson achieved this in 2008) an outstanding achievement when national expectation is 2 levels of progress. Further congratulations to the 26 girls who made 3 levels of progress.
Belvedere entered four teams from yrs 12 & 13 for the Liverpool Maths Society's Pop Quiz at John Moores today. The Yr 12 Further Maths team came joint 2nd, winning £20 each in WH Smith vouchers.The winners were Grange School, Cheshire so we are top dogs in Liverpool for the 3rd year running. The girls have vowed to win next year!

Jade Flaherty of Yr 11 participated in the Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad organized by the UK Mathematical Trust and was among the top 5% nationally, winning a week at a summer school for gifted and talented mathematicians at Queen’s College, Birmingham in July.
On June 16th, Paula Wulff of Yr 8 participated in the Junior Mathematics Olympiad organized by the UK Mathematical Trust following her outstanding score of 112/120 in the Junior Mathematics Challenge in April.
Chloe Gallagher of Yr 9 has been invited to a Mathematics Masterclass at Liverpool University following her success in the Merseyside Mathematics Challenge.
Four girls studying Further Mathematics A level (Kellie Bateman, Emily Fulham, Anjaly Sunil & Angie Zhen), accompanied by Mrs Ball, spent a taster day at Newnham College, Cambridge on Saturday May 2nd where they attended lectures, inspected student accommodation and toured the various colleges and teaching facilities. All four are now enthusiastic fans of Britain’s premier university!
Magdelene Teh, Jade Flaherty and Fahima Ismail achieved full marks on their GCSE.
Elenah Teh, Laura Carson and Tina Ha achieved full marks on one or more AS Modules.
Jane Friery achieved full marks on an A2 Module.
Jane Friery, Emily Fulham, Anjaly Sunil and Kellie Bateman achieved grade A and Angie Zehn achieved grade B in A Level Mathematics in a year.
