Our wonderful Eco club, Gardening club and two journalists Keely Stout and Holly Rivers had a fantastic time in the Anglican cathedral on Thursday 8th October.
The event was to celebrate Liverpool’s year of Environment. There were very important people there to represent Liverpool including the Lord Mayor and the dignitaries. The girls from our enrichment groups (Eco club, Gardening Club and Journalism) represented Belvedere amazingly and were complemented incredibly by visitors, Dignitaries and the Lord Mayor himself and they were stunned about how smart our uniform was.
We started by standing to sing All Things Bright and Beautiful but because we were at the back of the cathedral, we couldn’t really hear and so we more mumbled than sang.
The special service included hymns; dancing, drama and a range of schools were there to enjoy the service. Special guests included drummer Jeff Rich from English band Status Quo and television presenter and meteorologist Mr Fred Talbot (Where’s Fred?).
We were entertained by Notre Dame Catholic College for the Arts performing a modern version of The Book of Genesis and then they brought out a unicorn made from paper and sticks that pupils had created themselves.
We were then surprised to find that the congregation were going to be singing the school hymn (Jerusalem) at the end of the service.
Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and at the end enjoyed biscuits and a nice drink!
