If you love learning about past events to help you understand the present and shape the future, then A-Level History needs you! You will not only build upon your knowledge gained during GCSE, but you will gain a range of highly transferrable skills to equip you for higher education and beyond. These skills range from analysing, researching, communication and problem-solving, to prioritising information and learning how to make vital decisions; all invaluable for your future. History A Level also opens up a mosaic of fantastic career paths including Law, Education, Business, Politics and many more.
In terms of the course content, you will study the Tudor dynasty from Henry VII in 1485 to the death of Elizabeth I in 1603, alongside Democracy and Nazism in Germany from 1918–1945. In terms of historical skills, our A Level historians continue to develop knowledge in cause and effect, continuity and change, similarity and differences and the use of historical evidence.
