The English Literature course will provide students with the opportunity to explore and engage with a range of classic and contemporary texts from different time periods and genres. A Level Literature takes the skills they have learnt at GCSE and develops them to an even higher level. The structure of the course allows students to develop their ability to talk and write about different forms of literature confidently and with academic flair; skills that will undoubtedly be beneficial for university-level study. Students will also develop an understanding of literary critical theories such as feminist critical theory and post-colonial critical theory, and will be able to apply these to their own choice of texts.
